What you need to know

You will deliver to the same set of fixed postcodes each day and the amount you deliver will depend on customer demand. We pay per stop and we pay enhanced rates for both premium and timed deliveries. At the end of each week, you’ll receive payment for your services and your revenue will be paid directly into your bank within 7 working days.

  • UK Residency and Work Eligibility: You must be a UK resident with the right to work in the UK.
  • Suitable Van: You'll need a van that meets the required standards.
  • Insurance and Breakdown Cover: Courier van insurance and breakdown cover are necessary.
  • Daily Service Expectation: Services are required every day, excluding bank holidays.
  • Absence Coverage: You are responsible for arranging qualified, insured, and vetted cover during any absences.

There are lots of providers who lease vans. Any van you use will need to meet Parcelforce Worldwide's standards; a long wheel based van, fitted with a reversing camera or sensor. You'll also need to have the right insurance and emergency breakdown cover in place.

You'll need a full UK driving license with no more than 6 penalty points.

A smart appearance and full PPE are needed, including steel toecap boots. You'll also need a good level of fitness to meet the demands of multi-drop delivery with parcels weighing at least 30kg.

You'll be providing services every day, except on bank holidays. As a self-employed Owner Driver, you’re trusted to manage your own cover. So long as you have qualified, insured and security vetted individuals who can provide the services, you are free to organise your own cover. That way you have the flexibility you need for other things, like holiday.
